Weekly Reflection 2: Tracing Images With The Onion Skin Tool, Making Fills With Photographs

When mommy arrived in class, mommy's group need to think about our group name, group motto, goal, and rules. Bravo! huhuhu...Mommy think, it might be something with this task. After discussion, we agreed with our:

Group Name: 3D Ladies. 3D is stands for Dynamic

Group Motto: Leading To The Future

Goal: To be a creative, innovative and energetic team.

Rules:

1. co-operation
2. submitted every task 3days earlier.
3. share & accept any ideas from team members
4. (mommy forgot laa...sorry...mommy will updated it later k)

Next, Dr. Zaidatun gave same article to each group. She asked to read the article and disccuss. After finished read the article, we discussed in class. The Question is:

What is an Authoring System?

It is pre-programmed elements for development of interactive multimedia software titles.

How to categories Authoring System Software?

Authoring metaphor, is the methodology by which the authoring system accomplishes is task.

Authorware is a frame based metaphor.

Microsoft Power point is a slide based metaphor.

Authorware has:

• Scripting language
• Iconic/Flow Chart
• Card/Scripting
• Cast/Score/Scripting
• Hierarchical object
• Hypermedia Linkage
• Tagging

FLASH INTRODUCTION

Before we proceed with the task, we need to know a little bit about flash. Firstly, we need to install Adobe Flash CS3 Professional. The original software is quite expensive. So, mommy got the pirate one, ok lorrr...huhuhu. When you open Adobe Flash, it will appear this:

Then, we choose Flash File (ActionScript 2.0). It will appear as below:

Next, mommy want to explain about frame...Look at the picture below:

At Timeline, there has numbers above the timeline. It called as Frame Numbers.

1 Frame = 12fps. (fps = frame per second)

Border line for Frame Rate is 12 fps. For video, we used 30fps and above.

To insert Frame:

Insert > Timeline > Frame or F5

To insert KeyFrame:

 

Insert > Timeline > Keyframe or F6

Let's Begin with Task 1: Tracing Images With The Onion Skin Tool

1. Import an image. To import it: File > Import > Import to Stage (Ctrl + R).

2. Insert keyframe to Frame Number 2.

 3. Then, delete the keyframe. How to delete? Find in your keyboard word "Delete". Hehehe...

4. Clik Onion Skin and it will display like this:

5. Now, we can start trace the image. Click icon Pencil Tool and click also icon Pencil Mode. Choose Smooth.

 6. Follow the picture.To view large image, choose Zoom in drop-down list.

*Reminder: Make sure the line is connected each other. If not, you cannot colouring the picture.

 7. To erase the pencil line, click icon Eraser Tool.

8. Mommy's result is: (Taraaa!)

Task 2: Making Fills With Photographs

1. Open a new file. File > New or Ctrl + N

2. Import any BITMAP image in stage. File > Import > Import to Stage (Ctrl + R).

3. To adjust the picture, click icon Free Transform Tool and click the bitmap picture.

4. Press Shift when adjust the picture. It is because, the picture width and height will adjusted together.

5. After finished adjusting the image, click icon Selection Tool.

6. Click the bitmap picture and go to Modify menu, choose Bitmap > Trace Bitmap...Then, click button OK.

7. Now, you can start colouring the image. Refer this to know how to colour the image.

This is an activity in Authoring Class. The class end at 6.30pm. But before going back, Dr. Zaidatun already gave many task to do at home. So, mommy will continue mommy's homework with the different entry...
